Kannon Do Zen Meditation Center brings the tradition of Soto Zen Buddhism to the San Francisco Peninsula and the South Bay. Individuals from Mountain View, Sunnyvale, Palo Alto, San Jose, and surrounding communities come together to sit in meditation, study Buddhist teachings, and explore the meaning of Zen practice in our busy lives and in the modern world.

Named after Kannon, the Buddhist personification of compassion, the center provides a supportive environment in which centuries-old teachings and traditions complement the creative and caring spirit of contemporary America.

Kannon Do is a non-residential center, voluntarily maintained and supported by its members. There are no membership requirements to participate in its activities.
