Rev. Hozan Alan Senauke is a Buddhist priest, vice-abbot of Berkeley Zen Center in California. After years in the leadership of Buddhist Peace Fellowship and the International Network of Engaged Buddhists, in 2007 Hozan founded Clear View Project, developing Buddhist-based resources for social change in Asia and the U.S., with a focus on Burma and on “ex-untouchable” Buddhists in India. He is on the core faculty of Upaya Zen Center’s chaplaincy training program. In other lives, Alan is a father, musician, activist, and writer—not necessarily in that order.
