We are happy to announce the ninth biennial Soto Zen Buddhist Association Conference, now online. Now, more than ever, is a time to come together as a unified and diverse body of Soto Zen priests. We have chosen the theme Zen, Love and, Resilience: Our role in a chaotic world and we hope you, full and associate members, will join us.

Registration is now open here. This year by going online, the cost of the conference is greatly reduced, but as an organization the SZBA relies on your generosity to sustain our work. Please consider including a donation to the SZBA scholarship fund for members who have limited financial resources and consider donating to the SZBA to help us continue supporting our mission throughout the year. Though we will miss the opportunity to meet physically, we are excited about coming together virtually. The conference will include:

Deploying the Positive Power of Love

Pamela Ayo Yetunde is co-founder of Center of the Heart (, a pastoral counselor, and professor of pastoral care and counseling. She is the author of Object Relations, Buddhism, and Relationality in Womanist Practical Theology, Buddhist-Christian Dialogue, U.S. Law, and Womanist Theology for Transgender Spiritual Care, and co-editor of Black and Buddhist: What Buddhism Can Teach Us about Race, Resilience, Transformation, and Freedom. Ayo has written for Buddhadharma and Lion’s Roar magazines.
